Wu Dao (无道 Wú Dào) was a major recurring character of The Holy Pearl series. He was the current leader of the Dragon Clan.

Wu Dao is based off of Sesshomaru, a character from Rumiko Takahashi's work, Inuyasha. Like Sesshomaru, he is the older half brother of the main character and is a full blooded demon.
At first, Wu Dao is shown as a cold, Heartless, Emotionless and a Strong person. He is better at everything. As the Dragon King, he rules the south seas. and he is one of the celestial animals. Wu Dao is older than Wen Tian. Probably thousand or thousand five hundred years old. It doesn't say if he is alive around in future.
Wu Dao is far Different from his half brother and his father. in the beginning, he only wants to end his brother who he thinks as a scandal to his family, leadership and his throne. He never loves his brother. But it shows that he has deep feelings towards his father. He loves him but at the same time hate him for falling in love with Wen Tians mother. In this story, Wu Dao never mentions about his birth mother. But in Inuyasha, we can see Sesshomaru's mother.
Wu Dao met Yu Die and Mu Lian at the same time but in different places. He saves both girls and in the end, they both fall in love with him. Wu Dao never shows any interest in them. He ones made it clear that he would never fall for any human girl. But later, he starts caring about Yu Die and in the end he starts loving her deeply. It took him a while to Discover the meaning of Love. But when he did, his love is long gone.
In the end, After defeating She You Ming, He left everything to his General and leave his Empire to travel around the world with Yu Die who becomes a Butterfly after her death.
Wu Dao Relationship with Wen Tian
Wu Dao hates his brother at the beginning of this story. It was the exact same reason in Inuyasha. He follows and fights with Wen Tian to get their fathers most powerful Weapon. But in the process, The weapon didn't chose him and He loses it for his brother. He later went back to his Kingdom and got his father's other weapon. But This Weapon could not bring dead people back to life.(In Inuyasha, Sesshomaru's Tenseiga can do it)
After wounding Ding Yao in anger, Wen Tian scolds him and explain the reason why their father's weapon never chose Wu Dao as its master. The weapon only chose a person with a kind heart and that is what Wu Dao doesn't have at the moment. Wen Tian's words break him and make him think more about love and kindness. he didn't fight back with Wen Tian after that. But it shows he helps his brother and in the later part of the story, his relationship with Wen Tian grows stronger. Both brothers join forces to save Yu Die and in the end to defeat Shi You Ming. He even calls him little brother.
Wu Dao Relationship with Mu Lian and Yu Die
Wu Dao's relationship with Mu Lian was complicated. at first he met her and saves her life when her Village was destroyed by demons. In her village, she was the only person who survived and Wu Dao Heal her. After waking up and discovering his kindness, Mu Lian Thank him but later try to kill him because he saw her body while bandaging her. Wu Dao thought her behavior was annoying but ask her to find the people who destroy her village and left her giving a bag with medicine in it. He didn't show any affection towards her. But It shows Mu Lian fall in love with him. Later he saves her again from a few other demons. Mu Lian thank him and asks his name kindly, but he left her without saying who he is.
Wu Dao's meet Yu Die by a mistake. She was followed by people in her Kingdom when Wu Dao saves her. After seeing the wound in his arm, Yu Die kindly treated him. They didn't speak much at first but Yu Die's Attitude and childlike behavior seem to capture his heart. He listens to her music and had a small chat with her that night. He later saves her again and found the medicine bag he gave to Mu Lian earlier in Yu Die's bag. (That bag originally belongs to Mu Lian).He questions her and revealed who he really is. After knowing the truth Yu Die join with him in his travels. he Evan brought her to his kingdom and asked his General to protect her.
After Yu Die came into there lives, Wu Dao becomes the Middle of a Triangle love story. While looking for Wen Tian he meets Mu Lian again. His shows a professional relationship with her. He later discovers the relationship between Mu Lian and Yu Die.
At the same moment, he discovers who Yu Die really is. After knowing her true identity, he asks her to leave him. but in the end, They share a romantic moment when she hugs him from behind. Wu Dao first got surprised and angry with her. But later let his feeling go and didn't stop her. Next morning, both of them had a small talk about his feelings about kindness and love and Yu Die asks him to remember her Evan after her death no matter how many years gone by.
Mu Lian, As a witch who follows there rules, She asks Wu Dao To marry her. But Wu Dao rejects her by saying he never will be able to love a Human girl. Mu Lian got hurt and arrange a fight to Death between them.
Yu Die heard everything and later had a small fight with Wu Dao. She asks him to not to go to fight with Mu Lian. But Wu Dao told her the same thing he explain to Mu Lian. Later in that night, Yu Die left him. She thought leaving him will make Mu Lian and Wu Dao get in love. But before she left, She expresses her true feelings for him. But Sadly Wu Dao didn't heard her words.
Next Day Yu Die meets Mu Lian in the forest and tries to stop her. Both girls realize that Wu Dao never loves them both. But sadly both of them were in love with him. Yu Die Explain her reason for leaving them and Mu Lian did the same. She was planning to die in the process while fighting with Wu Dao, So Yu Die and Wu Dao can be together. But in the end, they fight and Mu Lian point her Sword at Yu Die in hurt. Wu Dao appears at the same moment and hit Mu Lian using his sword. Mu Lian left the place in pain while Yu Die cry. Later in the same day, Wu Dao Saves both Yu Die and Mu Lian from a Demon fairy. He feels guilty of himself.
Mu Lian didn't bother Wu Dao or Yu Die after that. She starts to travel with Wen Tian and Ding Yao again to find the Holy Pearls. meanwhile, Yu Die got more close to Wu Dao. She even decides to travel with him back to his Kingdom. And surprisingly Wu Dao agrees.
there Story changes when Wu Dao got weak after Fighting with Jian Long. Mu Lian gave medicine to Yu Die. and she starts to think of her self as a Burden to the man. She later found Hu Ji who misused her to convince Wen Tian and Wu Dao to fight against Shi You Ming. Yu Die Was Captured by the Demons and Wu Dao Fights with Shi You Ming to free her. When You Ming try to harm Wu Dao Yu Die jumps in the middle and got hurt. She was Later carried by Wu Dao.
By now Wu Dao half discovers his true feelings towards her. He carried her and walk around everywhere to heal her. After getting Help from Xian Yue he travels to Shu mountains with Yu Die to find medicine. Mu Lien, Wen Tian and Ding Yao decide to help him.
After Wen Tian bringing the scroll of Medicine, Yu Die read the medicine for her illness. She stares at Wu Dao sadly after discovering all the ingredients to her Illness. She found a Dragon lung as one of them. She hides the truth but later explains everything to Mu Lien. She makes Mu Lien promise to hide everything.
Yu Die makes medicine that only she can spent day with Wu Dao. Without knowing the truth Wu Dao got happy. He finally discovered his true feelings towards her. he holds her tightly without knowing she cries. Later that night Yu Die dies braking Wu Dao's heart into pieces. She Asks Mu Lien to Look after Wu Dao from now on. Wo Dao's anger toward Shi You Ming grown badly. he asks his men to find him. Wo Dao decide to kill Shi You Ming no matter how hard it is.
After a while, Wu Dao Discover that Shi You Ming Hides in a Holy mountain call, Tian Shang, Getting angry in the process, He asks him men to inform this to his brother.
While travelling to Tian Shang he met Mu Lian again. he didn't care about her presence at first. but later after climbing up the mountain with her, they had a little conversation about Yu Die that warms him up. He expresses his true feelings about Yu Die to Mu Lian. Mu Lian listens to him and gave him comfort. They seem to listen to each other while their journey towards the top of the mountain. Wu Dao shows his caring side to Mu Lian when he pushes her behind him when Earth guardian attacks them. Later they found the Phoenix the princes in the mountain and Wu Dao Carry her to the top while Mu Lian walking side by side with him.
Wu Dao' s life change upside down when Shi You Ming revile the truth behind Yu Die s Death. The missing part of the antidote. It damages him badly more than a knife wound. He discovers that everyone hides it from him. Even her death isn't his fault, he thought it is. He got weak and ran off. Later he tries to kill himself but Mu Lian Stops him. This makes him angrier than ever. In here we can see that the trust and care he shows to Mu Lian Disappear. He grabs her by her neck and tries to kill her. He threw his anger at her. He asks why she lies to him too. But luckily His men arrived and save Mu Lian. Wu Dao left to the forest after that.
